Changes in NaviKey 2.0
After NaviKey 1.0 underwent a complete overhaul much dust was raised,
but as it settled the following changes became obvious:
- Customizable color scheme, configurable on the server level.
- A four panel display, instead of the previous 6 panel layout.
- Removal of the Category list.
- Rotation of two types of "State" panels -- one for numeric states
and one for multistate selections.
- Improved numeric capabilities, including entering and processing of
ranges of data.
- Complete item descriptions, available by selecting an item in the
bottom right panel.
- Shrinking character and state lists ensure only pertinent choices
are available.
- "Resources" have been added, available from the item
description lists. This allows for images of items to be displayed.
- The option of running NaviKey either as a standalone java
applet/application or as a client server model. Current application
download and documentation only details the standalone version, but the
server-client capability is in place.
- Better code and logic, including an improved object model of the
Delta standard. While you can't see this (we'll have diagrams up
at some later point) it helps expands NaviKey's possibilities and
improves NaviKey's efficiency.
- Java 1.0 compliance. All browsers with Java enabled should now be
able to run NaviKey. See our faq for comments on
the state of Microsoft browsers.
- Last but not least full source code is available
for download under the Artistic License.

in its current state or dealing with the stated changes, let
